Getting back into Street Fighter 4

-Yang (left) and Yun (right) getting ready for a fight

Since I am back from my trip the silence on TW4N is officially over!!! I will be putting up stories about me getting into some old games I haven't gotten to play since my YLOD. On my trip to Arizona I got sucked back into the fighting game scene at my local arcade, gameworks and finally got my hands on the English arcade edition of Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition. So while the title is a mouthful the game has added quite a lot. All night I played huddled around 2 cabinets with many other guys and girls checking out the new additions. Even before my PS3 died I am a huge fighting game fan, but was distracted by Marvel vs Capcom 3.

-Oni (left) and Evil Ryu (right) looking badass as always

Arcade Edition's main attraction is 4 new characters to Street Fighter 4. Yun and Yang are very interesting and going to be quite popular for a while especially Yun. The other new characters are Evil Ryu who is pretty much Ryu and Akuma's child. The final character is completely new to the Street Fighter Universe and that is Oni. After playing all of them for a while I am impressed by all 4 new characters and plan on making Yang my main and surprisingly Evil Ryu being my second main.

After that night I didn't think I would be able to play for a while and couldn't wait to get the retail edition when I get home. When I was checking out the Capcom Unity blog I saw that Microsoft was having a launch party and tournament at the Microsoft store near the place I was staying. FINALLY a official launch party I could actually go to. I had a great time at the tournament even though I got my ass kicked, but I had a great time meeting more people getting even more sucked into SF4.

-Awesome art as always

Even after the tournament I got to mess around with the retail edition of Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition. I was only really disappointed that there were no trials for the new characters, but this leaves me to experimenting. Now if you have Super Street Fighter 4 you can download all the extras and modes in Arcade Edition for $15 but you can't if you only have Street Fighter 4. Even though I have Street Fighter 4 and Super I couldn't resist picking up the retail copy for $40 and it has some awesome box art and a beautifully made manual. I have messed around a bit and can't wait to play more but I have a lot of other games to keep me busy and will write up something everyday if all goes well. I Highly recommend picking this up any way you can if you are a Street Fighter fan.

P.S. Thanks to DEVASTATION for hosting the tournament and you can check out the results here as well as the bracket to see where I placed... remember I hadn't played in a while.

Finally Got A New PS3!!!

Yes, After many weeks of waiting I was able to get a new PS3 slim (so I don't worry about the YLOD as much) and it was the 160GB Black Ops Bundle which is quite a nice deal for $300. I have been working on catching up on past DLC game and mainly Infamous 2 so stay tuned for future updates much more frequently now.

P.S. Thank you JBP for all of the help and support.

L.A. Noire $40 at Best Buy this week

So if you have been holding off on getting this game, I would get it. Although since I still don't have a PS3 I will have to hold off on getting it.... for now. Still this is a great deal and let me know what you think. Also this is the last day to buy the Rockstar pass with all of L.A. Noire's DLC for $10 or 800 points*. I bought this already so when I buy L.A. Noire I will have a bunch of cool DLC to check out.

*Offer Expires 6/21 and bumps up to $20 or 1600 points

Psychonauts Rights Go Back To Double Fine

Some of you might not be aware, but Majesco had published Psyconauts and until recently owned the rights. Now the rights to the game has gone back to the creators of the game Double Fine. Now this is a good thing and shows some possibility of a sequel, but not much. With Double Fines recent downloadable kick they have been on with Costume quest, Stacking, and Trenched coming out next week. Their next release for retail is their new Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster. Still good news for developers getting their own IP rights back.

Status Update

Since I haven't updated the site in 6 days I want to just give you all a little update on what I've been doing and playing. While I am still $180 short from getting a new PS3 I finally got to play some Infamous 2 and have to say from the hour and 1/2 I played, I can't wait to play more. Also I got to check out my Infamous 1 trophy bonuses in action. I booted up with my Evil data and Immediately felt like "my" Cole was picking up the story where I left off in the 1st game. I also got to mess around with all the DLC goodies I got in my Hero Edition. I really enjoyed playing the game with all the different skins, but I do wish you could have multiple skins on at once such as OG Cole with Sly cane. I will give a more in depth coverage on the game when I get a new PS3 so stay tuned (hopefully that is soon).

Also I will be taking a trip to Arizona this Friday so I'm not really able to make any promises for the blog, but I will post As much as I can. Also as a side not I am not trying to just put up stories and focus on quality over quantity. Thanks for all of your support and reading my blog, I always appreciate the feedback. Wish me luck getting a PS3 soon.

Infamous 2 Hero Edition Unboxing Videos ands Pictures

-The box everything comes in

Today I finally got my copy of Infamous 2 Hero Edition in the mail and took some video and pictures to show you exactly what everything is like on the inside.

-The Unboxing

-A Closer Look

-First is Cole's Messenger Bag from the game it is very large and can hold quite a bit. Doesn't feel cheap either.

-Next up is the 8.5 inch figure of Cole. This thing is beautiful and has great detail on it.

-You also get the 1st issue of the Infamous comic series in a mini form with a different cover, different ads, and some sketches in the back.

-Finally of course is the Game as well as the Super Voucher which surprisingly has the original Cole skin even though it was originally a subway and EU exclusive. The voucher has all the pre-order bonuses as well as an exclusive Red Soundtrack that is exclusive to the hero edition, this is a nice complement to the blue soundtrack on the PS store which will cost you $10. Both soundtracks round out to be around 3 hours long.

-What the whole Hero Edition looks like together.

-Proof that the US hero Edition has the OG Cole Skin.

-Now all that is left is to play Infamous 2 on my PS......... Never mind I still haven't gotten a new one. I'll keep you updated.

Nintendo Press Conference Impressions

I was moderatly excited for Nintendo's press conference mainly due to the lack of actual hardcore software they had already announced. The main hope I had was Project Cafe, Nintendo's new console and what that could do as well as what it is like. Nintendo started out by playing some music for the 25th anniversery of Zelda. Next after some silly antics they had a Zelda game for every platform Nintendo has. For the 3DS there is The Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time 3D this month, the 3DS eShop get The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening as of today, DSi ware get The Legend of Zelda: The Four Swords later this year, and finally for Wii The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword this holiday.

Next they started to show off future 3DS games since their next console will not be out this year, but in 2012 so 3DS and Wii games will have to hold you over until then. They only announced 2 big 3DS games first there is Luigi's Maision 2 (yes... they went there) and The other new game was announced with the new console. The rest were things we have seen before with new features in games such as Kid Icarus, Mario Kart, Star Fox 64 3D, Super Mario 3D, etc.

Finally Nintendo unveiled there new console with one of the stupidest names since the Wii. Project Cafe ended up being called Wii U.....(yes they added a U). Nintendo really wanted to focus on the controler and here it is...

It is quite a thick tablet like controller with a touch screen, 2 analog sticks, D-Pad, 4 face buttons, 2 cameras, speaker, and a mic. Some little facts you didn't find out at the press conference are that the touch screen is a little ove 6 inches, doesn't support multi-touch, and the console it talks to was not disscused at all, but Reggie said it is a full 1080P HD console. The big game they announced will actually connect to the 3DS is a new Smash Bros. game and all we know is that the two games will work togeather in someway is what Nintendo says. A big push for games didn't come from 1st party instead it will come from 3rd partys like THQ, EA, and Ubisoft. They announced many new upcoming games for it, but I failed to see why I should get this over my current console of choice.

Still Nintendo has more to announce on the Wii U as well as more details on features so I will post as more Info comes out about it. Still a very weak show in my opinion, but I was glad to see a new Smash Bros. games and the potential for the Wii U no matter how stupid the name is.

I grade Nintendo's Conference: B-

Sony Press Conference Impressions

Sony had a very long but enjoyable conference compared to the other conferences by Microsoft, EA, and Ubisoft. Sony started things out right by addressing the PSN outage and Jack Trentton apologized to everyone about the lessons they learned about security. After that they started out by showing off a new level for Uncharted 3 and it can only be described as AWESOME! Throughout the rest of the show sony showed off a demo for Resistence 3 (way to short, 3 min), NBA 2K12 (Move Support.....yeah), Infamous 2 launch trailer (good), Bioshock:Infinte gameplay trailer (move suport...could be cool also new NGP Bioshock), Medevil moves demo (has poteintail), a new FPS that is related to the wold of EVE online (need to see more), and 2 new HD collections this September God of War PSP game collection and Team Ico collection (September is gonna be even better now I can't wait!).

Next Sony brought Kaz out to show off the NGP and announce the new name as well has pricing for the 2 different models. NGP will now be called PSVita (sigh...) and there will be a Wi-Fi only model for $249 and a 3G Wi-Fi model will retail for $299 (3DS better watch out) also the PSVita will release this holiday. The PSVita has over 80 titles in development and they showed some really cool games for the PSVita launch window. They showed off Uncharted:Golden Abyess (AWESOME! and portable), LittleBigPlanet (all new levels+transferable DLC!!!), Modnation Racers (new tracks and cool new features for track editing), Ruin (eh it has cloud saves for PS3), Street FighterXTekken(XInfamous, yes Cole is in a fighting game and looks sweet).

I really enjoyed the Sony conference a lot and can only really say there are a few complaints about what I was missing. I wouldn't have minded some cool Kevin Buttler speech as well as show some attention to the last real year of the PSP and announce Valkeria Chronicles 3, a boy can dream... Still by the end of it I really enjoyed the 90 minute show as a whole.

I grade Sony's Conference: A-

Hmm I feel like I forgot to mention something.......... Oh yeah Sony also announced

FUCK YES FINALLY SLY 4!!!!

Microsoft Press Conference Impressions

Microsoft's press conference just finished up today and I want to just give some quick hit impressions on what I thought. The beginning had a lot of interesting multiplatform games they showed off a really cool look at the new Tomb Raider as well as Mass Effect 3 with its new Kinect support features. Out of all the kinect supported games I saw only 3 games really impressed me. I enjoyed the voice commands in ME3, the gun customizing menu for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier looked great, but the gameplay looked very bad and needs improvement, finally I saw what Once upon a monster looked and played like, as a pure kinect game I really liked what I saw in gameplay and presentation.

The rest of the conference showed the 360 exclusive games and the only games that didn't support kinect were Halo anniversary, Gears of War 3, and Halo 4. So there was a disappointing amount of hardcore games so it looks like Sony still has it beat. The rest were mainly forgettable Kinect games besides Dance Central 2 now with 2 player dancing and the Fun Lab which shows off the cool features people have made on PC now you can use them on 360.

All in all I was very underwhelmed at what microsoft had to show. I am a bit excited on the announcement of Halo 4 and the anniversary of the first game being remastered. I would have enjoyed a more even mix of hardcore and kinect games.

I Grade Microsoft's Conference: C

3 New HD Collections Announed by Konami+A New Silent Hill on NGP

On June 7th konami had a Pre-E3 show and after watching last years show I was not excited and didn't plan on watching this at all, but when I heard Kojima was not going to be at E3 I thought I would watch it. I AM SO GLAD I WATCHED THIS! Konami really surprised me with all the cool announcements and videos they showed. By no surprise most of the biggest announcements were made by Kojima Productions.

1. KP finally answered every ones pleas by putting not only a metal gear solid HD collection including MGS2&3 as well as an HD version of Peace Walker on consoles. The best part is this will be a PS3 only collection like most games this will be on 360 and this goes for all of Konami HD collections. The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will be out in America November 2011.

2. A fan favorite game series Zone Of The Enders will also be receiving an HD update. This contains the 1st and 2nd game originally on PS2. I have never really played through all of two games so I am really excited to play through these games again when they are released in 2012.

3. Konami almost passed by the fact that they are releasing an HD collection for Silent Hill 2 and 3. This is to promote the second Silent Hill movies release in 2012. The HD collection will not include Silent Hill 4:The Room for some reason which is kind of disappointing to me personally. The Silent Hill HD collection will be released Winter 2011.

4. Sony's new handheld codenamed NGP(next generation portable) is a very highly anticipated system by me personally and now Konami has announced that there will be a new Silent Hill game on NGP with no info besides a name and a logo. Silent Hill Book of Memories is really all we known about it.

5. Finally Kojima announced his new way of gaming called Transfarring. No this is not a typo that is actually what it is called and to show you how it all works Konami released a video explaining how it all works watch below.

While I didn't enjoy them as much as infamous 1 BTS made by 2 Player Production. These are still very cool videos to make the Wait easier.
