Time for an update everyone -GET HYPED EDITION-

Get those stick ready
After the crushing realization that I was not able to enter Maxout last month I have been quite busy working on many different things and projects. The biggest two would obviously be work and school as much as they suck up my time and will to live they are necessary for now. Of course no one wants to hear about those mundane things that we all go through of course. I have no finally finished not only Devil May Cry 1, 2, and 3 in the HD Collection. I am going to spend the extra time and beat Vergil's campaign before I post the final version of my review. Also once I am done with that I will start going even more into hardcore training and practice for my fighting games. Lastly, I signed up for EVO 2012 and even bought my special EVO jersey that will be a custom made shirt with my name and number of my choice on it. I entered Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition, Street Fighter X Tekken, Soul Calibur 5, and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 so I will be very busy practicing for all of them. I will keep you all updated on how things go and just as a forewarning I will be very busy since I graduate in two week as well as work almost every day.

The Road To Maxout Part 4 (Sadly the end as well)

Well sorry to sad I don't have much good
Well I have been to sick recently to post much sadly so sorry about the dead air everybody. There have been many changes to me going to Maxout this Saturday unfortunately. My schedule this Saturday went from going to Maxout and that was suppose to be my day until I got hit with the scheduling hurricane. I ended up finding out I have to do driving school from 8 A.M.-12 P.M., work  a double shift at work as a busser (which is the longest I have ever worked at my job and I haven't even been a busser or any training before. Not only that I am also missing a double date opportunity with my girlfriend and her friends, as well as a birthday party for a friend of mine. So to say the least it really sucks having to make all the practice I put into Blazblue CS:EX and Street Fighter X Tekken.

The Road To Maxout Part 3

....Uh yea this is my main for Blazblue Jin
Well I finally sat down over the weekend and had to get use to blazblue again. I had been playing all the way through November of 2011, but stopped after I ended up getting super serious job hunting. So I remember how to play my main Jin really well, but I wanted to I wanted to go over the basic and advanced of the game. I decided to devote myself to going through all of the tutorials until I got the trophy for it. Even though This took me an hour or more to get all the way through I ended up learning how to control and handle counters a lot better. Along with some guard practice and learning some new combos.

The Road To Maxout Part 2

Good luck finding one of these unopened

What else could it possibly be...
Well it looks like I will be able to at least enter two tournaments at Maxout out and that is Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend. I was not going to enter before because of not being able to find a copy of the game until now. Thankfully the KC Shoryuken group I play with was able to help me out and after a long night of work I was able to stop by and pick up the last copy they had of the game. Not only that, but it was also the limited edition so I got all the extra goodies such as the art book, soundtrack, and calender for $59.99. I have yet to spend time with it besides installing the game since I wanted to play my other new game today.

I ended up getting my copy of Devil May Cry HD Collection the very same day. I ended up playing through the first mission of DMC1 and that was it. So far I love all the extras they added including all the music and unreleased art that you can look at in glorious HD. I only wish you could zoom in and out, but that is only a minor complaint. I will be playing DMC HD on and off whenever I am not training for maxout out. Expect more coverage after the 21st.
Time to start training again...

The Road To Maxout Part 1

Flyer Design by Leah Johnson

I will be preparing for Maxout an upcoming tournament put up by KC SRK members. At the moment I am looking for a partner in Street Fighter X Tekken and if I can find one soon I will probably enter into it. Mainly I will be preparing for Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 and I will need to spend a lot of time practicing it so I can get back to how I use to play and even better. I'll be back next time after I get some time in and see if I can get someone to partner up with and see how my UMVC3 team still holds up (Frank West, Dante, Vergil ).

Metal Gear...In HD? Part 2

Time to go back to the U.S.S.R.
Metal Gear Solid 3 is a very special game to me for many reasons, mainly because it was the 1st Metal Gear game I owned and beat. Since I was a bit to young to play more than just a demo of MGS 1 and 2 as a kid, I was SUPER excited when I got Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence and decided to wrap my entire life around it for about the next year. This was because I have not played many games like MGS3 before content wise as well as such a memorable experience. MGS3 gets so many things right I couldn't help but, think an HD remastering would be the perfect addition to one of my favorite games of all times.

Metal Gear...In HD? Part 1

You think he is cool now?
Just wait till he is naked.
The Metal Gear franchise is one of my favorite franchises (if not my favorite). So when I heard that Konami was bringing Metal Gear Solid 2, 3, and Peace Walker to PS3 and 360 in glorious HD I could not wait to get my hands on some of my favorite games again. Plus being a total trophy whore didn't hurt either since I love that each game comes with its own trophies and platinum's. Unfortunately I was not able to play as much as I would have like until recently, since I had been busy with looking for a job and what not.

Upcoming Projects and The Legend Of Korra Impressions

Perfection doesn't come close to this level of amazing

Now that I have written up about Naruto and reviewed the game I am now ready to announce what I have coming up for the blog (or hopefully what I will be able to talk about).I have decided to sort of go HD Collection crazy with some of my new money I picked up The Jak and Daxter Collection as well as Silent Hill HD Collection. Before I start playing to much of those I will finally finish the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. As of now I have gone through MGS2 and am working through MGS3 now. I am not very far yet but this isn't about me rushing through these it is about me remembering classic games o my past. I love these HD Collections and can't wait for even more of my favorite series to be re-released. Right now I am looking forward to Devil May Cry (04/03/12) and Ratchet and Clank (EU:Spring & US:Fall) HD Collections.

Time to get to TV side of things today
When I am not playing game, I love watching Movies and TV. One of my favorite shows was Avatar the last airbender on Nick. Now after that abortion of a movie The Last Airbender the series is getting a redemtion with the new series The Legend of Korra. The Show takes place 70 years after Avatar ended and the world was at peace. Now there is a new avatar and her name is Korra she is a very feisty girl from the water tribe who is much different in many ways from Aang which is a good thing, but holds some qualities like him which keeps things nice. The show is really shaping up nicely, with the new location, charecter (new and old ones returning), amazing voice acting, and of course the gorgeous animation.

Now the show does not premier till April 14th, but thanks to all the fans at Korra Nation we all unlocked the first 2 episodes and can watch them online right now. Just click here to check everything out. The story to sum it up for anyone who has not been following the news is unlike the original show. Korra already had been going through trainning to be the avatar and has mastered Water, Earth, and Fire. So all she has left to learn is Air, this is a nice twist since we never really got to see what it takes to become an air bender. It also shows off the new local for the game which is now a much more advanced city and almost steam punk in many ways. Finally there is a new sport called Pro Bending and it is one of those things that are hard to describe and something you will have to see for yourself.

I would love to hear what you all think about the first 2 episodes and the new direction for this series. Please leave a comment below.

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations Review

Get those jumpsuits readies fellow ninjas
I have written a bit about this game a bit leading up to its release. This ranged from my opinion on it and the series as a whole. I was not really sure what to expect with the latest iteration in a long running series that I really enjoy, since the demo seemed to change some parts the gameplay and story mode.

I am back so you better BELIEVE IT!!

No need to cry everyone
Sorry for the break I took there for a week and a half or so everybody. I ended up dog sitting for about 12 days and was able to spend a lot of time chipping away at my backlog. Talking about backlog I finally ended up beating Zelda Skyward Sword. It was a long hard journey playing the game and was a great experience overall. I might write about it some time later in the future, but I will be busy the next couple of weeks playing Street Fighter X Tekken and practicing for tournament play. I also have been dabbling in trophy hunting and playing through the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. So far I have played through MGS2 and just started playing a bit of MGS3, while coming back to Peace Walker to check out  Multiplayer.

I'm on FIIIYAAAAAAAA!!!!!
Time to get into the new stuff folks. I wasn't just dog sitting for nothing I did it to make money and boy did I! I ended up getting about $200 after putting some into savings. Right away I picked up a copy of Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations for PS3 and have a lot of interesting feelings about the game as a whole. If you read my impressions on the demo you will know that the game changes many things while retaining a lot of things fans like me love about the series. I have had the game about 24 hour as I write this and have gone though all of the story mode and unlocked all characters and assist characters. This is not a bad thing people just letting you know I spent my whole day grinding through this game. So expect a review hopefully by the end of the week at the latest. Have you played the full game yet? Did the demo turn you off from the game? Let me know in the comments below. Also damn it feels good to be back as well as a gangster.

Backlog Time! You Tell Me What To Play

Four choices you decide
As with many other gamers out there I have accumulated quite the backlog and have narrowed it down to four games I feel I have not spent enough time on. I will post a poll to the side and let anyone vote so I can decide what to play and write about on here. Your choices are...
  1. Final Fantasy 13-2
  2. Zelda Skyward Sword
  3. Oddworld Stranger's Wrath HD
  4. Soul Calibur 5
I listed these in no specific order so have fun voting and I know will begging everyone I know to vote. If you have any other suggestions of games for me to get, leave a comment below. You now can leave anonymous comments and not have to be signed into google. Hope everyone has a busy weekend, I know I will.

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations:Demo Impressions

Who is ready for some hot N.U.N.S. action?
I have an interesting history with the Naruto series as a whole, beginning with me reading the manga, then leading to me watching the anime, the games, then the trading card game. Now many years later I have stopped  doing all of these things with the Naruto series except with the video games. The ever complicated and seemingly never ending plot fits itself with the game surprisingly well. Mainly the Ultimate Ninja series which started all the way back in the late end PS2 days.

Why wouldn't anyone wanna hire me...??? Also long time no see everyone!

Seriously things are a bit desperate with me at the moment

Well everybody 2012 is quite a mixed bag for me and my free time seems to be gasping for a breath of fresh air. I have finally found a time to do some blogging and will try to do more, but for now I will be talking about whats going on with me so far.

Sneak Peak: What does 2012 have in store for me?

Not bad getting all of this in less than a month.
What do you think?
Recently along with Fighting games I have decided to get back into playing the TCG Yu-Gi-Oh! I have always had cards I just stopped playing 3 years or so for some dumb reason probably. So I will probably be posting some videos of me talking about my experience getting into the fighting game scene and getting back into playing yugioh. Obviously I must hate money because these are not easy hobbies along with playing my normal amount of video games, which I am still playing quite a bit. I just wanted to let you know that I will start writing/ posting videos about both in a new series I will probably end up calling YU-GE-VO! 2012.

As always thanks for sticking with me and I hope you all had a great holiday season, I know I did.

Why Zelda and Skyrim fans should be Best Friends

You just might be surprised why you aren't already...

November was a huge month for games and if you had to boil down the two biggest action adventure were The  Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword and Elder Scrolls V Skyrim. While I didn't buy Skyrim I did pick up Skyward Sword and between me playing Zelda for 20 hours so far and listening to people talking about Skyrim as if they all work for Bethesda PR. Now in a year of great games coming out I have not noticed any two more games that people just spend countless hours telling each other their own stories of playing each game. The only big difference these two parties have is that I have yet to run into any Zelda fan wanna play or buy Skyrim or vis-versa.

SO LISTEN UP EVERYONE!!!

****I want to start by saying that this piece is by no mean is telling you that you are wrong for only liking one game instead of both, I just want to show the many similarities I have noticed between fans.****

Something notable about both games is just the pure wealth of content in each game. In a day in age where paying $60 for a game and getting a campaign that last over 10 hours is a bit of a rarity. Now that doesn't mean those games are bad it is just that when you hear people complain about games costing as much as they do and complaining about it. Having two games come out offering over a 100 hours each if you can devote the time to both. Also with Zelda being a Wii game it only cost $50 instead of $60 which is a nice plus.
Image searching Skyrim Zelda brought me to some interesting pictures...

With both games being such massive and epic titles you will have lots to tell your friends about and discuss. Now with Skyrim things are really much more open to the player and you have many many more options on what to do, where to go, and how you get there. With Zelda being a much more focus and linear experience it is still something fans like me enjoy talking about what we thought of everything. Still Zelda has tons of collectibles and side quest to keep you busy for many hours distracting your from the fact that Zelda is STILL missing.

This brings me to an interesting side note. While talking about both games is fun and what you have done with each side quest or mini game I  personally enjoy watching and even just hear people talk about the act of playing both games. Running around in each world is something that can suck up a good portion of time itself while not boring the play. Also I would like to say THANK GOD Link can run now its about time!
Zelda hands down sorry Skyrim fans

In the end Skyward Sword and Skyrim's similarities and differences make them both great games to share stories with one another as well as play for most gamers out there. So hopefully after reading this you will feel inclined to either play these games or listen to others talk about these games. With the holidays coming up it is always nice to get together and just talk to your friends new and old about games even in the cases where you might not ever plan on picking up that game (like Skyrim is in my case) and just enjoy swapping stories as well as enjoying each others company. Thank you for reading I hope you all enjoyed my post and I wish you all a very merry Christmas!

Assassin's Creed Revelations WHAT HAPPENED?!

Sure would have been nice if ANYONE reported on this...
Recently Assassin's Creed Revelations was undergoing maintenance on the 25th of November and this was just scheduled to fix some minor issues and in less than a day the servers went back up and everything went back to normal...OR DID IT?!

As I was playing Revelations and finished the story mode my 1st thought was "Time to spend some Uplay points and get that multiplayer pack. Next thing I know the game won't let me log in for some reason and says the AC:R servers are currently not available. At first I didn't think anything of it and just though it would be fixed by tomorrow. This was not the case and  until the 29th of November this problem was still going on. I thought that this problem could just be me since I had not heard anyone talk about it on any of the major news sites, but I soon checked the official forums and saw many others were going through what I was. This issues wasn't effecting everyone and there was no way to tell what made you unable to connect to their servers. So while I saw all my friends playing multiplayer I was stuck with no estimated fix date.

This brings me to another issue I had which is this couldn't have happened at a worse time. Ubisoft has an online FAQ that is actually pretty useful in helping people with problems, but no matter how many times people submitted this problem people never got a fix, reason as to whats going on,  or even what to do. The other solutions for technical help is the Ubisoft support line which closes on the weekend and no one knew about this issue until late Friday so we were stuck in the forums going "WTF is going on???" until their phone lines opened up on Monday. So over the weekend the occasional mod would stop by suggesting we go to the already mentioned useless online FAQ and finally someone who wasn't trying to BS everyone just laid it out straight by saying they are aware this is a problem and they are looking into it.

Finally Monday arrives and I notice that the servers are still not connecting so I give Ubisofts support line a call and explain the issue I was having and the lady told me that they are aware of the issue and things should be up in 24 hours. I was grateful of the time frame for this problem finally being fixed, but I needed to know what really happened. I am aware issues like this can happen and no one can see these coming, but I wanted to know how they totally dropped the ball PR wise on this whole issue. While I see this effected a very small part of the community this still effected your "fans" the paying customers who just spent their money on your product. So the least you could have done was reach out sooner and say we know you are having issues, just stay with us as we work through this. Instead after e-mailing Ubisoft directly about the issue, leaving comments and post on their official facebook pages and not hearing back at all until I called the support line is a bit ridiculous.

I want to end this by bringing up one last topic of discussion. Besides forums how did no one on any video game news site pick up on this. So that is why I wanted to write this piece talking about what happened to let you know if you were one of the people who didn't know about this and were not affected. Let me know what you think of this whole situation in the comments below, whether you were affected or not how do you think this whole situation was handled.
